Professional Background
Clinical work includes snoring, sleep-disordered breathing, otology, rhinology and minimally invasive laryngeal surgery. Dr. Luo was recruited to Macau under the “Special Outstanding Medical Talent” initiative and has presented research at academic meetings in China and internationally. She later served two consecutive terms as one of five members of the ENT Subspecialty Education Committee.
Clinical Scope
Paediatric and adult assessment and treatment, including plasma ablation of tonsils/adenoids, turbinate reduction, and plasma-assisted modified uvulopalatopharyngoplasty.
Endoscopic anterior ethmoidal nerve and posterior nasal nerve block; FESS for chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps and sinus cysts; endoscopic septoplasty or nasal tumour removal.
Suspension laryngoscopy with microscopy or CO2 laser for laryngeal, epiglottic and vocal-fold lesions and early laryngeal cancer; cosmetic closure for congenital neck cysts/fistulas and nasal vestibular cysts.
Otitis, hearing disorders and ear lesions, including tympanostomy, preauricular fistula excision and auricular lesion excision with reconstruction.
Surgical Approach
Minimally invasive precision, function preservation and individual planning. Plasma, laser and ultrasonic scalpel may be used according to clinical need; tumour surgery gives attention to organ function.
Patient Care
Pre-operative assessment brings together endoscopy, imaging and clinical symptoms. Care includes consultation before surgery, recovery follow-up and rehabilitation-plan adjustment when needed.
